The ever sultry Szandora LaVey invites the always alluring Mina Rose for a bit of bath time fun as only they could dream up!

Much has changed in the daily lives of all involved and as a result much was put on indefinite hold. As unfortunate as that was it did allow for plans and ideas to mature and things are better off for it. Much has now been written, collected, and edited and the coming months will finally see it released. You’ll no doubt be seeing new faces and some unexpected surprises along the way and the blog itself will see new life both in informative and just plain fun ways. Everything and everyone has their pulse back and we’re all itching to get started!

Now Szandora has hardly been idle. Beyond her behind the scenes duties as key creator and guiding force she’s been performing endlessly with her band The Swank Bastards all across the country. It’s given her opportunities to meet quite the assortment of eccentric characters, sultry sinners, and a new generation of Satanic Witches. Mixed into all that she’s been doing photo shoot after photo shoot with a wide range of photographers and artists. The results of which we’ll be sharing regularly along with artwork inspired by both Szandora and Satanism as a whole.

While little will remain of the site as it’s seen now the original intent will not be lost. Ever forward as always as a new era begins for Satanic Witchery with renewed purpose and drive pushing all here.

Hail Satan!

While each question is an excellent one, questions No. 7 and No. 3 are particularly telling. The answers given shed light on what most Satanists currently abide by to some degree. In the years following Dr. Anton LaVey’s death Satanism has been continuously retooled by those who want to see it survive. How effective that’s been is too early to tell but the fact people still cite Satanism as a strong part of who they are without the influence of official channels is pretty impressive. Whatever one’s view of the current Church of Satan is one has to admit more people have discovered the works of Dr. Anton LaVey today through curiosity or their local major bookseller than through anyone or anywhere else.

In reading through the full interview question No.9 in particular shows Szandora’s strong understanding of what Satanism was vs. what it can still be. While she has never hidden her satanic beliefs she has stood alone with them at times. That challenge of keeping Satanism sexy, fun, and potent continues as evidence with her founding of this site. Now community and more importantly action in numbers has been added to the mix. The elitist nature of Satanism has often been abused confusing many as to the purpose of a modern satanic community. More than ever we are a society of groups, organizations, and collectives. Even our social lives can be boiled down to whatever scene we hang out in. Giving modern Satanism and Satanists that same outlet and tools should be a given not a weakness.

In the mean time give the Nick Bougas film Speak of the Devil a look as it gives a rare peek into the life and legacy of Dr. Anton LaVey. It’s a wonderful piece of history now since it’s some of the only footage of Dr. Anton LaVey’s infamous haunts, hobbies, and home. A highlight for me comes near the end with Father Larry Wessel, his story I think is one many of us can relate too.

While the full site and its features are still shrouded in the veils of development, regular updates and special content will be featured here alongside daily blog posts and assorted surprises.

Honoring a piece of work like The Satanic Witch is not a simple task. Dr. Anton LaVey pieced together with Diane LaVey a book of such depth and practical use that for some the book is heavily engrained into who they are. That personal connection makes it difficult to approach objectively let alone from a totally alien viewpoint. Yet such a challenge is one those involved with this site are willing to take on. With it comes the responsibility to present the ideas the text raises in a current context while preserving their original meaning. All involved are excited about the potential for this site and for the opportunity to highlight and honor the true Satanic Witch.
