Pardon Our Dust…

Things are still being formed behind the scenes so apologies for the lack of posts lately. Thankfully things should get rolling soon! We thank all for your support and kind words. Without all of you this site & blog can go nowhere and all involved eagerly await sharing their hard work.

In the mean time give the Nick Bougas film Speak of the Devil a look as it gives a rare peek into the life and legacy of Dr. Anton LaVey. It’s a wonderful piece of history now since it’s some of the only footage of Dr. Anton LaVey’s infamous haunts, hobbies, and home. A highlight for me comes near the end with Father Larry Wessel, his story I think is one many of us can relate too.

Hail Satan!

I had to laugh at this, a quote from Peter Gilmore (HP of CoS) about Diane LaVey:

“DS: Who received the copyright to The Satanic Bible?

PG: The estate. The money that comes in from that gets split up and goes to the three kids. Also there is a small percentage that goes to LaVey’s companion, Diane Hegarty; she says LaVey. But they were never married and had a falling out in the early 1980’s. She went off and left Satanism and sued him for palimony and he had to sell his house because of all of that, and he sold it to an old friend and member. Diane got a pile of money and she got a tiny percentage of the books that had been written up to that point. Every once in awhile she comes creeping in off the periphery to say, “Ah! I’m Diane LaVey!” and it’s like, you were Diane Hegarty and you were kind of involved in it, but before the Satanic Panic happened you left and had nothing to do with it. She was never someone who wrote or said anything of interest. She was just the pretty blonde wife of Anton LaVey. She was a nice figurehead, but wasn’t of much use beyond that.

I find it funny that in the begging of his answer Peter Gilmore says Diane was LaVey’s companion “Also there is a small percentage that goes to LaVey’s companion, Diane Hegarty; she says LaVey. But they were never married and had a falling out in the early 1980’s.”

THEN later on he says that She was “just the pretty blonde wife of Anton LaVey.”"

The interview is called: “Satanism: An interview with Church of Satan High Priest Peter Gilmore”

I find it telling that this site makes no mention of Blanche Barton, who succeeded Diane Hegarty as High Priestess of the Church of Satan, was Dr. LaVey’s companion of many years, and bore his only son. Not to mention writing and publishing two books under her own name, as opposed to Ms. Hegarty’s rather specious claims of having “co-written” the Satanic Bible and The Satanic Witch.

This site is about what Anton and Diane created and where witchery is today. Diane LaVey was my mother in law and I know what she did for the CoS and Anton… I’ve seen all the evidence I need for that.

I am not dismissing Blanche (”Sharon Densley”), I’m just not interested in writing about her at this time.

Just a thought - Since Anton has written 5 books (The Satanic Bible, The Compleat Witch; reprinted as The Satanic Witch, The Satanic Rituals, The Devil’s Notebook and Satan Speaks)…I think it would be interesting if DIANE wrote a book…”The Devil’s Bride” or some such thing…It would make a damn good-read!

    Infernally,
